Hey Oppos, our beloved !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! needs an assist from as many of y’all can chip in (she didn’t ask for this help, but I know a lot of you here would like to help out and make her day in the process).

She has an upcoming trip to our beloved Nurburgring, but currently only as a passenger. In her words: “I thought about renting some weirdo car off Turo, but I don’t think I have the money.” (Apparently she’s stuck in “unpaid invoice hell” - that really pisses me off. Pay the woman! ).

Capitalism at least gives people the chance to change their path. Plenty of rags to riches stories. My parents did n’t have much (still don’t) , I’m one of six, took student loans for college (7 years...) , and have managed to do very well in the past 15 .

What modern system is better for motivating someone to better themselves and work hard? ( FWIW, I do think there should be a strong and broad social safety net, and that no one should go broke because of medical problems. )

Thanks, everybody. My life is kinda garbage, so a friend is taking me along on an Alps/’Ring trip using his extra miles. I wanted to build up a little buffer of extra cash to goof off with beforehand, but I got sick and didn’t get much done when I really should have. So, I did much of it this month, which means I’m...waiting. No one’s late on an invoice yet, but I’m waiting on outlets that I either work with less often or that have changed payment procedures lately. One of the big ones is definitely taking longer than usual , though . It’s a lot of “I don’t know what to expect here” when it comes to money, which is a subject where I like to know exactly what to expect.

Come to Dayton Ohio. I volunteer/wrench at a local museum with lots of cool old British cars, including a Moke. The Moke is cool (I think it's a dog to drive but it was a bit broken last tike we drove). I think one of us sent an email to a few journalists to see if they’d be interested in driving some pieces.

IDK, it’s all kinda contingent on that one invoice, sadly. :( But I’ll try. (I really loved everything about the Sub7Up! last year, TBH, so I was inclined to try for that one again since no one’s renting a vintage 944, ha .)

You really should. There is also a Packard museum in Dayton. There’s a Reliant Robin privately owned that is stored at either museum intermittently. You might be able to convince the owner to let you drive that if you ask nicely.
